The 4 new Netflix releases I’ll be watching next week

There will be new seasons of some of the streamer's most popular TV shows, as well as new docuseries, movies, and fresh international fare. August is shaping up to be a bit of a dry month in terms of new content, but there are still plenty that are worth checking out over the next few days.

Our latest snapshot is part of a larger mix of coverage that is intended to help you figure out what to watch next.

One of the most high-profile releases next week is the second season of Heartstopper, which is based on a graphic novel by Alice Oseman.

Charlie, Nick, and their friends are on a journey of discovery, acceptance, and love.

Nick and Charlie navigate their new relationship, Tara and Darcy face unforeseen challenges, and Tao and Elle work out if they can ever be more than friends in the second season of the show. With exams on the horizon, a school trip to Paris, and a prom to plan, the gang has a lot to juggle

As the writers and actors strike drags on, I wouldn't be surprised to see more and more shows being added to the streaming service. If nothing else, it is a clever way to prolong the queue of content.

The second half of The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 will hit the streamer on August 3. The Lincoln Lawyer series is the basis of the second season of the show.

We pick up with The Lincoln Lawyer's new episodes if you haven't finished the first one yet:

You already know that Mickey wakes up in the hospital after a brutal attack in the first part of the second season. With Lisa's big trial coming up, it couldn't have come at a worse time.

Mickey Haller is a hotshot lawyer who runs his law practice from the back seat of his car. He recovered from surgery and a pill addiction in the first season.

Mickey gets back into the legal game after his colleague dies. Working out of his car isn't the only thing that sets this lawyer apart

The attention to detail in the show is what I like the most. There is a charcoal Navigator with a license plate that reads "dismissd", as well as a blue Lincoln Continental convertible with a "ntguilty" plate.

In the books, Mickey rides in Town Car sedans, the kind of cars that used to take you to the airport. Lincoln doesn't make Town Cars anymore, so we went with the 2020 Navigator, which is an SUV.

He doesn't have the classic Continental in the books, but there is an origin story for how and why he has it.

The documentary slate is getting more expansive.

Jake Paul is the subject of a new volume in the docuseries. I am aware of who he is.

Jake Paul is a promoter who packs more punch in his marketing skills than he does in the ring. There is a tease in the promotional material. It depends on who you talk to about UNTOLD: Jake Paul the Problem Child, a deep dive into how a wide-eyed kid from Ohio became the most polarizing man in sports.

Jake tried to find a redemption in the boxing ring after his offline antics put his career in jeopardy. Interviews with the Paul brothers, along with their parents, fans, and other boxers, are included in this release. August 1st is the release date.

I apologize, but Poisoned: The Dirty Truth About Your Food will probably put you off your appetite, but it is still an important watch.

The documentary Poisoned: The Dirty Truth About Your Food is an indictment of not only the food industry but also the government that regulates it. The US food supply has been left vulnerable to deadly pathogens due to decades of apathy, neglect, rubber stamps, and malfeasance. It's coli. August 2nd is the release date.
