It is a new limited-time NFT movie marketing stunt from Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.
As physical disc sales have waned, Warner Bros. is trying to establish a new home entertainment business model based on non-fungible token (NFTs) which verify ownership and authenticity of digital content. Warner Bros.'s online marketplace is powered by Eluvio and allows customers to buy and sell NFTs.
The new NFT-based bundles are based on the movie "Superman : The Movie." The film in 4K Ultra HD is part of the Superman Web3 Movie Experience. To foster an engaged community of fans with the potential for longer-term upside, the studio hopes to generate excitement among NFT enthusiasts and DC aficionados by making money through the initial sales.
For a limited time, the Superman Web3 Movie Experience will be available for a limited time at web3.wb.com, which is designed to drive sales of the bundles. Once customers create an Eluvio NFT media wallet that acts as a digital vault, they can purchase them using a credit card or cryptocurrencies.
The Superman release is the second movie in the WB Movieverse after The Lord of the Rings.
There are two editions of the Superman Web3.
- Standard Edition ($30, on sale for one week from 8 a.m. ET on June 9 to 7:59 a.m. ET on June 16): Includes an interactive location-based navigation menu, Superman: The Movie Theatrical Version, previously released special features and an image gallery featuring stills and behind-the-scenes photos.
- Premium Edition ($100, on sale for 24 hours from 8 a.m. ET on June 9 to 7:59 a.m. ET on June 10): Includes three different variations available for purchase separately — Truth, Justice and Hope — each featuring an illustration of Christopher Reeves’ Superman from one of three DC artists: Ivan Reiss, Ben Oliver or Bill Sienkiewicz. Each variation includes an interactive and explorable location-based navigation menu and three versions of the feature film: Superman: The Movie Theatrical Version; Superman: The Movie Expanded Director’s Cut; and Superman: The Movie Extended TV Edition. The bundle also includes previously released special features, image galleries featuring costume and detail images from the Warner Bros. Archive and behind-the-scenes images.
DC Batl NFT holders will be able to get early access to all editions of the Superman Web3 Movie Experience on June 8th. At 11 a.m., DC3 holders can be reached. At 2 p.m., The Lord of the Rings Web3 Movie Experience holders will receive a gift. There is an hour and a half later.
The Superman Web3 Movie Experience will include a free voucher code for a DC3 Super Power Pack: Series Superman from the DC NFT marketplace. The packs are limited to a single account. New themed packs will be launched every few weeks.

'Superman: The Movie' is being released as an exclusive Web3 film and immersive digital collectible for the first time, and it will be available for purchase on Eluvio.
Customers who buy a Superman NFT movie bundle can watch, collect and sell them in the Movieverse marketplace. The companies say that the core digital assets along with derivative NFTs are all on the block chain.
