The AGA's Responsible Marketing Code for Sports Wagering is supported by SportsGrid, Inc. The industry's responsibility standards and practices are reflected in the AGA's marketing code. ® Bet Responsibly is a public service campaign of the AGA.

Legal sports wagering should only be enjoyed by adults and marketed to that audience. Sports wagering services are advertised to inform consumers about the nature of those services and the terms on which they are offered. Competition, consumer choice, and responsible gaming are supported by advertising. Advertising is an important part of moving players away from the illegal market.

The Responsible Marketing Code for Sports Wagering establishes a high bar for advertising for the legal sports betting industry, self-imposed restrictions on target audiences, outlets, marketing language, partnerships and materials branding while mandating inclusion of responsible gaming messaging. This code was developed by AGA members to set the industry standard for traditional and digital marketing and advertising of sports betting where consumers are encouraged to place real money wagers.
