In the next four to six years, high school students may be concerned about finding a job. If the U.S. enters a recession this year or in 2024, college students may be concerned about their futures.

More than 36,000 undergraduate college programs were analyzed to find the most profitable fields. There are some industries where it is possible for graduates to make six figures right out of college.

Some fields have more jobs for new graduates than others. According to the latest data from the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Statistics, operations research, a major that could lead to a job as an analyst for a major company looking to reduce costs and improve efficiency, has just 104,200 jobs available right now. After graduation, operations research analysts can expect to make more than $112,000 a year.
