It is easy to think that we need to fit in in certain places or that we have to look like someone else. Our essence is lost when we do that. When we bring our whole selves everywhere, we can achieve what we want and be happier. I would like to know that it is ok to bring my whole self everywhere I go now that I am older.

What’s the biggest risk you’ve ever taken?

I took the biggest risk of my life when I packed my car and moved across the country. It was a leap of faith but it paid off. In California, I was able to start a new chapter in my life and learn a lot about myself. It was a challenge at first, but rewarding.

If you weren’t doing your current job, what would you be doing and why?

I would love to own a flower farm. I would love to grow flowers and share them with other people. I always look for new ways to delight people and this would allow me to do that while still flexing my marketing muscles.

What should the industry do to encourage more women and people of color into its ranks?

Advocacy should be normalized for marketers who are in leadership roles. It will encourage more women and people of color into executive positions, but it will also create more equitable spaces for everyone. I would encourage leaders to give women and people of color a seat at the table and give them a voice in decision making.

What’s one piece of your career that you’re the proudest of?

I have had a hand in many amazing projects that drive advocacy with content creators. The gaming creator summit was my proudest achievement. It was a long journey but we were able to deliver a one-of-a-kind experience to creators. I am passionate about fortifying brand love and relationships through innovative marketing experiences, and this summit, and other large-scale projects I have worked on, gave me the chance to do that.
