  1. A man was arrested on Friday for fleeing and assaulting a police Officer in Huntsville. Darius Rogers, 26, was arrested after police attempted to make a traffic stop. When the officer approached the vehicle Rogers fled and dragged the officer with the vehicle causing the officer to fire shots. Rogers was arrested for attempting to elude an officer, aggravated assault of an officer, and improper lane change. (WAFF)
  2. A candlelight vigil was held for a 2-year-old in Huntsville. Family and friends got together to celebrate the short life of a two-year-old that they say was always a happy child. Sonny, his family nickname, was chosen because his smile always lit up the room like the sun. The candlelight vigil was followed by a balloon release attended by neighbors of the family. Investigators reported that the child's death was due to a beating that an Athens man has been charged with. A funeral for Kason Grady Jr. (Sonny) will be held on May 26 at St. Luke Christian church. The entire community is invited to come out and show their support. (WHNT News 19)
  3. The 2024 Toyota Tacoma engine will be manufactured at Toyota Alabama. The new engines for the popular mid-size truck will feature and 2.4-liter turbo engine. This is all part of Toyota's 222 million dollar investment in the production of four-cylinder engines. The new investment is expected to allow Toyota to manufacture 900,000 engines annually. Production on the new Tacoma will begin later this year. (WHNT News 19)

The Huntsville Fire Department hopes that by speaking with kids and letting them jump in the fire vehicles, it will plant the seed for the next generation of firefighters.
