Savaari Car Rentals wins ‘Best Marketing Campaign’ at the Economic Times Travel & Tourism awards

At the first edition of the Economic Times Travel and Tourism Annual Conclave and Awards, we won the award for the best domestic tourism marketing campaign. The Travel and Tourism Awards bring the most relevant insights into the industry to ensure that industry leaders keep up.

It is a great honor for us at Savaari to be acknowledged by the company. India is best explored by road, that's what we think. There are two Indias, one that is exposed and the other that is hidden. Savaari Car Rentals wants to make the second India more accessible through their content outreach. As we strive to champion domestic tourism in India, our mission resonances with the government of India. Savaari has worked hard to promote road travel in India and provide top-notch car rental services to travellers. There is a list of Savaari's road to this honor.

The beginning of Savaari.

Savaari was founded by anentrepreneur. When he was in India, he wanted to take a cab to Roorkee. Even though he has been booking online car rentals in the US since 1999, he didn't have the option of booking online car rentals in India. Savaari was founded with a seed capital of $55,000 and has grown to be one of India's largest car rental services.

Why did Savaari win this award?

Savaari brought back the classic Indian road trips by providing premium road trip services to various offbeat sites, as well as launching several marketing initiatives to encourage people to travel to lesser known destinations and experiences in India. Domestic tourism is the focus of some of the campaigns executed by Savaari.

Savaari increased its network to 2000 cities and 15000 routes to promote rural tourism. Savaari launched a campaign to motivate travellers to experience rural life in the tribal belts of the state of Odia.

Savaari launched a one-of-a-kind pet-friendly cab service in ten cities. Savaari started offering taxi services for animals.

Savaari publishes a yearly travel magazine called 'The Road Less travelled', which is part of our initiative to shine a spotlight on India's hidden treasures, and it seeks to immerse the reader in a world of lesser known.

In the next two years, there will be steps taken to grow Savaari.

Winning this award motivates us to strive for excellence in the future, as it is not just a recognition of our past work. In the next two years, we will be taking a number of steps to grow the organisation.

  • Create a road trip community of the next 10 million road travel enthusiasts through aggressive growth investments in Tier-2 and Tier-3 Cities
  • Expand driver presence in Tier-1 by 120% and 180% in Tier-2 & 3 cities to meet the demand surge in leisure travel.
  • Expand operations to 3000 towns and cities from the current coverage of 2000 cities.
  • Create experiential road trips to address the gap in domestic leisure travel by combining technology (digital travel content) and human interaction (trained chauffeurs) to offer a wholesome travel experience.

We won the Travel and Tourism Awards.

The annual conclave and awards were held at the Grand Hyatt in Gurgaon. One of the first conclaves we attended after the Pandemic was here. Leading companies in the travel industry were able to learn more about their post-pandemic plans at the ceremony. We are happy that our efforts to highlight lesser-known tourism locations in India have been recognized, and we want to achieve even more in the future. The Savaari cab driver was waiting for us to drop us off at our hotel after we left the venue. Our drivers symbolize the heart and spirit of Savaari and we share the honor with him.

Savaari was established as a category leader in the travel industry due to the initiatives that helped us gain industry awareness. We intend to inspire the travel sector with fresh and innovative campaigns in the future after we received this award.
