Openai, the creators of the most popular chatbot of all time, rolled out this week a series of plugins for the chat game. The model is hosted by Openai and connects with the wonderful world of the Web via the Bing searchAPI.
It will be able to connect directly to the Web and current day information through query results, going beyond its trained language models that only takes in knowledge up to 2021.
It's similar to a search engine, with the chatbot giving you results it thinks you'd like. What does it do with Microsoft Bing?
Someone gets access. Users and developers can use the alpha access. Openai officials wrote that they plan to roll out larger-scale access over time.
The first group of users to be enabled from Openai's early collaborators are the ChatGPT users. The ability for developers to create their own add-ons is being added. In the coming months, as we learn from deployment and continue to improve our safety systems, we'll iterate on this protocol, and we plan to enable developers using OpenAI models to integrate plugins into their own applications.

Most users are aware that language models are limited. Openai officials say that the only information they can get is from their training data. The world will end in 2021.

"As an open-source and self-hosted solution, developers can deploy their own version of the plug-in and register it with the chat gppt," Openai officials said. The plug-in allows developers to use a database of their choice to search and index documents. Webhooks can be used to link information sources with the database.
