The Picasso generative artificial intelligence cloud service can be used to quickly generate 3D content for industrial digital twins.
Shutterstock, Inc., a leading global creative platform for transforming brands and media companies, is partnering with NVIDIA to train custom 3D models to create generative 3D assets. Through a first of its kind collaboration, 3D models will be trained with Shutterstock assets and converted into high-fidelity 3D content.
Creative Flow, an extensive toolkit designed to power the most seamless creative experience, will be the latest addition when the models are introduced on Shutterstock.com. The text-to-3D features will be introduced on the NVIDIA Omniverse platform for building and operating industrial metaverse applications.
The next generation of 3D contributor tools will be powered by the generative 3D partnership with NVIDIA. This is the first of its kind partnership and it furthers our strategy of bringing new products, tools, and content to market. Combining our 3D content with NVIDIA's foundation models will allow us to take advantage of a large market opportunity.
It can be difficult to build a high quality, detailed 3D model from scratch with today's professional software. In the case of a content being created for use as a digital twin, the complexity of the job can take days or even weeks depending on the specifics of the model. 3D artists will be able to create object shapes, assist with object unwrapping, texture and materials, and even produce complete 3D models ready for use in a wide variety of applications with the help of Shutterstock.
NVIDIA Vice President of Developer Programs Greg Estes said that generative artificial intelligence makes it possible for software makers and enterprises to build tools that use simple text prompts to create 3D assets for digital twins, simulation and design. Developers will be able to spend more time exploring new concepts and refining their ideas thanks to the training of a custom model with the NVIDIA Picasso generative artificial intelligence cloud services.
Shutterstock will compensate artists through its Contributor Fund for the role their intellectual property plays in training the generative technology, as part of its responsible AI focus and correlation with sales of the customized 3D models on the platform.
