‘Shazam! Fury of the Gods’ stumbles with $30.5 million debut

The sequel fell short of its modest expectations and earned a place on the very low end of modern DC comics movie launches, between "Birds of Prey" and "Shazam!"

The film was directed by David F. The movie brought back many of the original cast, including Asher Angel, Jack Dylan Grazer, Adam Brody, and Djimon Hounsou. Many critics found the first film charming but were unimpressed by this outing. It has a critic score of over fifty percent.

The sequel was given a B+ CinemaScore by the audience. The younger crowd was more favorable.

The head of domestic distribution for Warner Bros. said the movie was lighter than they thought. There is a rolling spring break over the next few weeks and it is targeted towards children. We are hopeful that we can get a lot.

A 24 added over 1,000 screens for an encore run of " Everything Everywhere All At Once" after its Oscar sweep. Brendan Fraser won the best actor award for his performance in "The Whale." The film played on 509 screens and made over $150,000.

Audiences are enjoying a variety of content. Creed III and Scream VI are going to be franchise best debuts this month. We might see the same thing with John Wick 4.

Comscore has an estimated ticket sales for Friday through Sunday in the US and Canada. The final figures will be released on Monday.
