A person is in custody after a shooting at Muskingum University in New Concord.
The Olivet College baseball player who was shot multiple times was identified by the university. The status of the victim was the only information available at the time.
According to a release from the university, a shelter in place was put in place immediately after the shooting happened, which happened just north of the field.
Faculty, staff and students were not harmed. The shelter was lifted after the potential suspect was arrested.

Authorities were still trying to determine a positive identification just after 8 o'clock, as the name of the person is custody has not been released.
The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he is currently being treated, according to a press release. All athletic events have been canceled this weekend. On Sunday, it was going to play Olivet again.
She said that first responders from the New Concord Police Department and Muskingum University Police assisted with the search for a suspect.
