85% of brands get new customers because of a video on social media, and 45% of consumers learn about new brands on social. Video is the most used form of media in content strategy according to Hubspot. Marketing on social media doesn't need to be hard. Five tools you need to effectively grow your business can be found here.

You will be shown up on video if you are a service provider. It's important to let people know you through video. Employees showing up on camera isn't enough for a savvy social consumer, even if you're at a large company.

Investing in an all-in-one setup will make your videos better. I use a tripod to hold my phone. We built a solution for cameras and studio that allowed us to make a lot of original content in our studio. While you may not be building the next CNN in your office, every time you set up and break down your filming takes time, so you'll want your filming setup and lighting ready to go

A ring light is very easy to use. If you can have a window facing you, that's ideal. If you're a large company, you'll want to invest in a proper camera, because most professionals can film on your phone.

Filming more of your life and your company's perspective will lead to more authentic- feeling videos that will enhance people's connection to you.

Video-editing tools

Depending on your time and budget, video can be done very simply. It's important to have videos that are well edited. Even before people's attention spans were sanded down to a piece of dust, any extraneous seconds in a video left a chance for someone to shift their focus. If a viewer can see your hand moving to turn off the record button, or if they hear two seconds of dead air, it will diminish your brand.

It's possible to get started with an app like InShot or CapCut. If you do a lot of editing or are more tech- savvy, you might want to use Adobe Rush or Adobe Premiere Pro. Most of the social media platforms now have auto subtitles, so you can use them if you want or use an app like Descript that adds more dynamic text.

I recommend teaming up with a good video editor in order to execute higher quality video. Video editors can make it better. If budget is a problem, you can do the rest.

A brainstorming system and planning tool

Many of my clients and students don't know how to come up with new ideas for social media. A solid planning tool or app is needed. I use both a doc and app to keep track of my ideas. I am able to complete a full video script or social media caption in the moment at different times of the day. Sometimes I will be out walking and an idea will come to mind. I will write down a few words and write it down later. It's important to get the ideas out of your head and onto your phone. You don't have to think about "I have so much content" to create and it keeps you organized so important posts don't fall through the cracks when you're too busy

I have a list of things I need to do. Customer pain points are the source of some of the prompts, while others are based off of an editorial calendar. A Mother's Day post is written in advance. I schedule in advance social media posts about my own events, such as a video featuring my students after a session for my video course, or a video after a speaking engagement. I will be capturing behind the scenes footage in an authentic way, not just me standing on the stage. You don't miss out on opportunities to grow your business if you think ahead.

You won't have that feeling on Mondays when you don't have a planning tool set. I have used a bunch of different things to plan for different clients and projects.

A graphic design app

Establishing yourself as a brand requires a cohesive look and feel. Your brand will be established by your logo and brand colors, as well as by your social media feed. There are tons of templates for different social media platforms with the help of Canva. You can change it from one of their templates.

A website

Even though social media is important for your business, a website and a blogs are still worth it. Search engines can be used to find your site, but not for all social platforms. In order to boost your overall organic website traffic, it is important to have a relevant answer to your customers' questions on your website.

It builds credibility and helps build relationships with customers and clients. You want to make sure that your ideas can be found somewhere. If you recycle your social media content into a blogs, it can be simple. Make your content harder for you by doing more with less. I have turned several social media platforms into newsletters. It is easier to turn a well- conceived piece of social content into more assets than to come up with a new one from scratch.

I already spend hours researching and producing each episode of Mom's Exit Interview, so why wouldn't I also post social video assets and a post for each episode? I use Zencastr to record the podcasts and use snippets of the videos to place on social media, and I also post the video on my site. It is doing more with less.
