JCPenney spotlights senior pit bull mix named Popcorn, available for adoption in Atlanta

Popcorn is searching for a new home.

The 12-year-old terrier-pit bull mix is available for adoption.

Popcorn was eager to make friends after she was taken in by the shelter.

There is an apprenticeship program in Kentucky.

Popcorn is full of energy and loves to play.

The pit bull mix loves playing with toys so much that her foster mom had to buy an "indestructible toy to stand up to her relentless playtime"

Popcorn would love going on a hike, a trip to the park or a long drive with her new family, according to the shelter.

After 14 failed adoptions, a North Carolina puppy has finally found a new home.

In order to help senior dogs find their forever homes, JCPenney is partnering with animal shelters in 10 different cities across the country.

The first step has been taking photos of these dogs in their own homes.

Bill Cunningham, vice president of marketing strategy at JCPenney, said in a statement that the company cares about the memories its customers create with their furry family members.

The senior dogs in these shelters, who are often less likely to be adopted, their chance to shine and encourage customers to get involved with their local communities to change a pet's life for the better.

Even though they have less bad habits, senior dogs are less likely to be adopted than younger dogs.
