Keisha Taylor Starr joined the senior leadership team after being named chief marketing officer for The E.W. Scripps Co.
The rebrand of Scripps News from Newsy took effect on New Year's Day.
Adam Symson, the president and CEO of the company, said that Keisha was the ideal chief marketing officer. As we focus our company resources even more on these enduringly popular content categories, Keisha will be charged with raising the visibility of the Scripps company's family of brands with audiences and advertisers.
Taylor Starr was the senior vice president of marketing at The Recount. She oversaw all marketing at the sports marketing agency, including graphic design, research and analysis, client insights and innovation.
Taylor Starr worked for WarnerMedia for 10 years, leading teams across entertainment and news.
Taylor Starr said that there is a lot of energy within the organization. "But our one constant is community, and as a marketer, I feel privileged that I will be able to help our local stations and our national networks tell our stories to the many geographic and demographic communities we serve."
She will be reporting to Lisa Knutson, who was recently promoted to COO. Taylor Starr graduated with a degree in mass communications.
