Leading travel service provider Trip.com Group held its 2022 Global Partner Summit in Macao, with tourism boards, international airlines, hotel groups and industry representatives from across the travel industry in attendance. Celebrating this year’s theme, ‘Journey into the Future Together’, Trip.com Group and partners provided insights on the industry’s growth and opportunities ahead, with leadership and experts sharing sector-specific knowledge via breakout sub-forums.

An Encouraging Outlook

The pace of global travel recovery is getting faster.

The CEO of the group highlighted triple-digit growth in hotel bookings across key markets in the Asia-Pacific region compared to the same period in the previous year. Its global air ticket bookings have increased by 100% in the last year.

With rising international air ticket and hotel bookings, partners are able to make more money. The hotel travel specials program brought over 10 billion GMV to hotel partners.

Jane Sun said that they want to explore more opportunities and use cooperation, technology, and service to promote the tourism industry with their travel partners.

The average number of bookings for promoted products increased by more than sixty percent compared to last year. In Singapore, bookings for the 11th November flash sale jumped by 115% in just 24 hours, while in South Korea, they jumped by 260%.

Confidence has been given by the early recovery of global markets. Jane Sun said that they will look for more possibilities to better serve their partners and users.

The recovery and prosperity of the global tourism industry will not be hampered by short-term difficulties. James said they remained confident and patient.

A scaled-up content marketing strategy.

The Trip.com Group wants to revitalise the tourism economy and connect with travellers in a more meaningful way. This is done through an expanding content offering, consisting of Trip Moments on Trip.com, the Ctrip Community travel sharing space on Ctrip, and Star Hub, the Group's enhanced marketing tool for suppliers to increase marketing activities.

Ctrip Community has provided hundreds of millions of users with travel inspiration in the past year.

The content marketing offering was upgraded and expanded at the summit. The innovative and hugely popular Ctrip Livestream, which generated a total GMV of 10 billion, will be launched in more cities in mainland China.

The Trip. Best list will be launched across all major websites. Global users will be helped by this tool to get the best from the app.

According to Ctrip platform data, the popularity of Macao travel searches has increased by 231% over the last year.
