Above and beyond a senior project

The senior project at BYU-Idaho is exciting and frightening. It's the mark you're almost done with school for the rest of your life It is time for you to show what you have learned and how you can use it in the real world.

The project was the chance for Joey Jones to make a difference in the school he loves the most.

Joey wants to use his passion for training and development in his project. He found himself working with the Human Resources Department because of the connections he made during his time on the campus.

The training and development team wants a new social media page. Pat Powell has been wanting this for a long time.

The desired social pages were created by Jones. He didn't stop at that point. A training program was made for the entire department.

A lot of HR representatives don't understand marketing

The program was going to educate the department with the help of statistics. The manual contained information on who the audience is, what content works and doesn't work, how to make content, and timelines that can be used in the future.

There were obstacles that had to be overcome.

Everything has to be approved by the Mormon church for the school.

Jones wanted to understand what worked best in this area. The biggest challenge I faced was figuring out how to make this training for an HR office work.

Joey followed through with the original need for social pages after completing the training program for HR. The training material was the main focus of these.

Jones said thatBYU-Idaho has a lot of training material. Nobody knows how to get to them. It all came together.

Joey decided to go as far with the project as he did. He was able to get others to feel good about what they were doing.

Jones doesn't know a lot about marketing. Being able to help in any way is what I want to do.
