Warhammer 40,000 Darktide Prerelease Access Seems To Be Hurting Its Steam Score

There aren't many Steam reviews in the dark. The PC version of the sci-fi co-op shooter is currently in an "early access" phase. According to PC Gamer, Fatshark has released a roadmap of content for the game over the next 11 days, but that hasn't stopped people from giving it a mixed review.

Darktide, the award-winning series, is being built off of and was a huge success. The reviews are hovering between "mixed" and "mostly positive". The reviews clear up the situation, with the players expressing their frustration over a lack of content. After the game's official release, there will be more variation available, but currently only four missions in four different zones are available.

There are side characters who deserve their own games.

In-game events will be added to Darktide. Two more missions will be added on November 28th. There will be more in-game events on the game's release date. It is safe to assume that Darktide will be greatly expanded over the next year since it has received a lot of support over the years.

There is a growing number of reviews that slam Darktide for being incomplete. One review goes into extensive detail over the lack of graphics, while another takes issue with the lack of weapon information in the game. The lack of private lobbies and solo play is one of the reasons why other players are frustrated.

It's understandable that there's confusion over fan expectations during an early-access period. New features and ongoing changes to the game are rare nowadays. Steam tries to alleviate confusion by labeling reviews as pre-release, but that hasn't stopped fans from expressing disappointment over missing features.

On November 30th, the game will be available through the game pass on the PC. There is currently a timed console exclusive for the XBOX consoles. Darktide is available for people who pre-ordered it on Steam.

I got a good familiar buzz from playing the game.
