Madison County launches new way to support local farms

Buy Madison County is a new digital platform created by the Madison County Cornell Cooperative Extension.

25 participants of the program are listed on a website that lists their location and what they are selling.

The goal is to make it easier for Madison County residents to find farms where they can buy local goods.

Consumers want to know where their food comes from and they also want to support their neighbors, so this is to help with that.

Pete Walrod, a participant in the program and the owner of a farm stand in Georgetown, said that the platform would help him get the word out about his product.
